PULAU MERAH “Red Island Beach”
Red Island Beach is located in the village of Sumberagung, District Pesanggaran. Located about 80 km from the center of the city of Banyuwangi. The shape resembles a small hill close to the white sandy beaches along the 3 km.
Very good waves for surfing. It has been proved by the International Surfing Competition
championship in 2013 and followed by surfers from 20 countries were
opened by the minister of tourism.
When the tide is low, tourists can visit the island only by foot. Near the beach there is also the Pura Segara Tawang Alun that each year is used by Hindus to organize Mekiyis ceremony.
In addition to scenic hill in the middle of the sea and the beautiful white sand, red island has a very interesting view of the sunset to be missed.
Some of the facilities in the area is sufficient red island with a fairly wide parking area, homestay for overnight in the area of beach, and a few stalls – stalls to relax enjoying the view of the Red Island Beach.

SUKAMADE Beach

IJEN

Sulfur miners
No less stunning views of the crater of Ijen is the activity of the sulfur miners daily activity in the crater of Ijen. About 350 miners, consisting of the pawon and sulfur bearers working PT. Canding Rimbi, Castle Village. Named the Pawon which means kitchen in the Java language, is their direct contact with sulfur. Starting from the gas discharge control sulfatara of iron pipes, cooling pipes with flush pipe sections in order to heat the gas decreases and sulfur sumblimasi process faster, and take the sulfur that has been frozen with traditional tools “crowbar”, then collected to be transported by the carrier sulfur commonly called bearer.
